Is trolling really that bad??

Am I the only one that doesn't think that trolls are that bad? To me trolling is just another way of having some fun. I mean, there are different levels of trolling and at a certain point it can just become harassment. Trolling is sometimes just a way for some people to relieve some stress. it is largely used within gaming for the enjoyment of the troll himself and many other people that might be there in the moment or those who might be watching after the event has occurred. Most of us can say we have seen at least one video of someone trolling one or more people in a game. A great amount of people see internet trolls as horrid people who harass others for their own enjoyment. In my opinion some people go too far but in other cases we categorize or profile people based on a couple harmless posts. It's all fun and games but we should just be careful not to pass lines which we can make to where we can all agree on. Also some people really need to just suck it up and not be so sensitive. The internet is still new to us all and we never really know what to expect. We should know by now that the internet is sometimes a cruel place and it should be our daily agenda to prepare ourselves for what is coming everyday. We are all human and are always bound to imperfect so suck it up!

  1. I don't think they are bad too. It just when the Trolls take it to another level like the Lindy West trolls did that when everybody see them as bad. In Lindy West case I see it more as harassment than trolling. As a gamer myself I see where you are coming from about them not being bad because it meant to cause no harm. The only problem is that everyone else has different experiences and perspectives about the word trolling.

  2. I agree with you that we all not all perfect but at the same time does that give other people the right to point out our flaws? The Internet is not a cruel place, it is there to help us in today's society. People are the ones who make it a cruel place. There will always be people who want to cause mischief but many trolls take insults too far to a point where you can't just suck it up. The little trolls who are just having some fun by not insulting others too badly aren't the ones I am concerned about. I am concerned about the ones who many times cross a line. Yes people can try to suck it up or get off the internet but why should they get off the internet when they aren't the problem. The trolls should have to get off the internet since they are the problem. Like you said people are human and they are bound to have imperfections but that does not give anyone the right to point out their imperfections. If every person pointed out others imperfections the world would be an uglier place. So it is important to maintain trolling now before it gets to that point.

  3. I agree that there is a difference between trolling and harassment. Some of the best jokes come from trolling and I really enjoy them. But what the articles were describing was definitely harassment. Trolling with innocent intentions are funny and okay but when someone personally attacks someone else then I consider that harassment which is wrong and nobody likes or finds funny.

  4. I get what you're saying and I don't see too much wrong with trolling but I strongly disagree with harassment. Trolling is good for pulling out different views of subjects from people.
